John Caines
John is a business coach, investor and chairman who helps other businesses to achieve their goals.
A qualified accountant, he gained an MBA from the London Business School before developing two software and services companies. He has also lead the management buy-out of an eight-person business, which he turned into a profitable £40 million group now quoted on the London AIM stock market.
On exiting his main business in 2001 John turned to helping other business leaders and entrepreneurs through a portfolio of directorships, coaching and consultancy. He has lead company turnarounds and rapid-growth situations, chaired a thriving business angel network and personally invested in 18 early-stage companies over the past five years.
Author of The Effective Entrepreneur, John is a frequent speaker on business leadership and early-stage funding among the entrepreneurial community. He is a member of the Bristol Business School Advisory Board and was awarded an OBE in the 2009 New Year’s Honours List for services to entrepreneurship and business.
